September 6, 2011 – ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consultancy, design, engineering and management services company, announced today that as per October 1, 2011, Walter Verbruggen will be appointed to the position of Managing Director for ARCADIS in Germany. He will succeed Ms. Stephanie Hottenhuis who was recently appointed as Director Europe for ARCADIS.
Since 2010, Mr. Verbruggen (1963) has been the Global Director Buildings for ARCADIS, focusing on business and client development as well as large project pursuits in the Global Business Line Buildings. In addition he was responsible for coordinating global knowledge development and exchange in this field. Mr. Verbruggen joined ARCADIS in 1988 and worked in several functions before being appointed to the position of Commercial Director for ARCADIS in Belgium in 2003, a position he held for four years, contributing to the very strong growth of our Belgian activities in that period. In 2007 he was appointed Director Buildings for ARCADIS in Belgium and in 2009 he joined ARCADIS at the corporate level to become Director Business Development in Buildings, during which time he laid the groundwork for the current Global Business Line. Mr. Verbruggen holds a MSc. in engineering from the University of Leuven in Belgium.
